People have this mistaken idea that meditation always occurs when everything has stopped moving.

People have this mistaken idea that meditation always occurs when everything has stopped moving.

When the children are sleep
When the house is quiet
When you’ve cleared your calendar
And when your mind and life has slowed down.

Oh how I wish that was true.
Sadly or not, depending on your perspective, it’s not.

As mamas and busy women, we must realize that we can’t “find” the time or “wait” for the perfect time - - we actually have to “make time.”

Meditating as a mama occurs when my son is awake and when he’s sleep, when he’s moving and when he’s still, and when he’s with me or not.

Some of my best sits have occurred with him laying or sitting on me - like this morning.

Mamas and friends, don’t wait for the perfect moment to sit down and recenter.

Your quiet can take place in the midst of storms.
You can find your center in spite of the surroundings.
All it takes is a little practice.
Ask me. Because I know.

Another lesson I learned in the trenches.

I invite you to sit, center, and breathe in peace - wherever and whenever you can! You’ll thank yourself later.

And besides, our kids need to see it.

What’s been your experience meditating with kids and chaos?

In presence and gratitude,Brooke-Sidney
