𝐆𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬, 𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠?⁣

𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐱?⁣

I can honestly say that I learned to stand up tall when I was really young. And this mini self-esteem lesson has helped me to this very day.⁣

⁣

Although it may sound like nothing to you that I was being told to stand up straight at 9 or 10 years old, but it was a super big deal to me at that time.⁣

⁣

I was slowly starting to become one of the taller kids in my class - especially as a girl. And back then, no girl wanted to stand out or not fit in. ⁣

⁣

Yet, here was my 6’5” dad telling me to stand up and stand out. ⁣

To carry my height well. ⁣

To not be afraid to be who I am different or not. ⁣

⁣

And so I decided to just roll with it. I had to get used to the extra attention. ⁣

⁣

So, instead of shrinking I started standing up straight and seeing how it could benefit me. ⁣Being 5’10” has its advantages.

⁣

I never felt claustrophobic.⁣

I always found clothes. ⁣

I began to model and win beauty pageants. ⁣

I was never lost in a crowd. ⁣

And it forced me to be happy with being me.

⁣

Being tall has helped me more than I can ever imagine. And it is just one of the ways that I am me. ⁣

⁣

I turned my initial oddball shrinking reason as an excuse to shine. ⁣

⁣
