SUSHI FOR THANKSGIVING--CHANGE YOUR MINDSET & CREATE YOUR OWN HOLIDAY TRADITIONS

As a divorced mama, I co-parent my son with my ex-husband (hus-been!!). And that means I split holidays. This change has been a MAJOR adjustment. At first it was hard to see him the day before or after a holiday when I didn't have him the "exact" day. But I slowly chose to change my mind about it. Holidays, like Thanksgiving, are what we make them. And they actually happen when we want them to. And we can make them include new and old traditions. This mindset shift was a game-changer. It was so freeing and it became more fun.

This year my son asked for sushi for Thanksgiving - yes, sushi. And guess what, it was a blast. Plus, I'd already cooked turkey with my mom and my love on Thanksgiving.

So, now he gets sushi, his heart's desire, and has pretty good chopstick skills for a 7 year old!

Tell me your new holiday traditions or mindsets to keep you sane and happy below!

In presence, gratitude and power, Brooke-Sidney
