I Needed A Verse That STOOD ON BELIEF.
For years, I had a scripture and affirmation that got me through. I loved it from the moment I heard it. It felt good. It was reassuring. It was beautiful in so many ways. And I tucked it away into my heart and spirit.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13
And this verse did exactly that. It got me through.
It kept me hopeful. And that hope has brought me joy and peace.
But I have realized that I needed a new verse. I needed a verse and mindset that STOOD ON BELIEF.
That shifts me from HOPE to STANDING FIRM in my BELIEF of what’s to come.
Now, don’t get me wrong.
Sometimes, all we have is HOPE. I’ve been there.
Hope that I can be happy again. Hope that I will not have to walk on eggshells. Hope that I can dance in my living room with my son. Hope that I will love again. Hope that I will have peace in my home.
Hope that it will all work out.
Oh, my “HOPES” go on and on.
But there is a REAL POWER in standing on and in my BELIEF and knowing the power of my words.
That what I BELIEVE to be true will come to pass.
That what I KNOW - past hope - will actually materialize.
TO ME, THAT FLOW FROM HOPE TO BELIEF IS THE NEXT STEP IN BOTH OUR FAITH AND IN OUR ABUNDANCE.
We have to not only hope for it but BELIEVE FOR IT.
We have to have HOT BELIEF and not anything LUKEWARM.
We have to be so convinced, so sure that we step out of hope and into belief and faith.
That’s been my journey. Stepping from where I felt like there was NOTHING - to HOPE - to now standing on BELIEF and FAITH - - SURETY.
CERTAINTY.
That all of my Spirit-given desires are coming to pass.
I simply had to believe.
